about me

I'm a youth birder and bird photographer.  I live in Cape Town, but travel through Southern Africa in search of birds. My passion started with my father who also enjoys these feathery creatures. Bird photography became one of my hobbies a few years ago. At first, I used my camera to identify birds, due to the short periods of time you normally have them in good sight. It started turning into more of an art later on when I first saw the true beauty of birds.  The more I did birdwatching and photography and the more places I visited I gained much experience and knowledge on the way. I realized the importance of birds in the ecosystems and how they are great indicators to environmental change. Several birding opportunities arose during my youth period so far and for that I'm very thankful.  My parent's resources made it possible to do bird guiding on the Keurbooms River in Plettenberg Bay. As nature lover it is also important to share the importance of these animals as well as there conservation concerns and how we can help protect them. So that our future generations can enjoy them as much as we did.
